Day 4–Thursday, March 22, 2018 At Sea

Another great day at sea heading to Hawaii.  The morning was spent with John doing Zumba for the first time and Robin fighting with the internet to post the blog and skim through email.  BTW, probably the best way to get hold of us while we’re at sea is by using Facebook messenger directed to Robin.

Next on the agenda…………….a little Bingo.  Guess who won the first game?  Robin won $105!!!  Followed by 3 loosing games but it was sure fun to have a 1st win under our belt.

Luncheon was, believe or not, a yummy slice of pizza cooked in a great big pizza oven out by the pool.  It was surprisingly good and I’m sure it’s not our last.  Then it was time to head to our 3rd Ukulele lesson.  You would think that as time went by the number of students would decrease but not so.  It was just as busy as the other days.  The bad news is that we both pretty much stink at playing but the good news is there are so many people (and some of them quite experienced) that our mistakes are covered up by their good playing.  But don’t worry, we’re not giving up and will once again attend class tomorrow.  In fact, we actually practiced a little in the afternoon, but you’d never know it by our playing.

After a short rest (that ukulele playing is exhausting Confused smile) it was time to attend an Enrichment Presentation.  What is that you ask?  Well in this case it was a lecture with David Klinkenberg (our violin player from the other night) titled “Cutting Edge Research Into the DaVinci Code”.  We think it was interesting but we’re really not sure.  The one thing we are sure of is that he didn’t talk about the Davinci Code.  Go figure!!!  But it was interesting and we have part 2 Friday evening.  Maybe he’ll even talk about the Davinci Code this time.

We finished off the afternoon by attending a wine tasting.  We tried 6 different wines from around the world and had these cute little appetizers.  All the wines were quite expensive but our regular cheapo wines taste just as good to us.  Maybe we aren’t the wine snobs we thought we were.  Smile

After another short rest period and then it was time to head to dinner.  This evenings meal was in one of the specialty restaurants, Sabatini.  The food was excellent but very, very rich.  We were both overly stuffed by the time the 6th course came around.

This was the first evening that walking the promenade deck was doable.  The weather has been a little cool and rainy but the evening turn out to be lovely.  Check out this wonderful sunset viewed from out balcony.

That’s it for another day of vacation.  Tomorrow?  Ukulele, the movie “The Greatest Showman” and ????.

Hugs,

John and Robin
