Another great day sailing across the pacific headed for Hawaii. We started the day with coffee and a light breakfast to get us going. It was still a pretty overcast and rainy but the sun did briefly shine through the clouds. We started the day off slow by watching a movie (we have no idea which one, it had already start when we jumped into the middle).
Finally it was time for lunch. If you’ve been on a cruise before, you know that the day is built around food and beverages.
After visiting the Internet Café and posting our blog, we headed out by the grill to have a hamburger and hot dog for lunch. Afterwards we headed into the buffet so that John could get a cup of coffee. While passing through we saw this gorgeous display of sushi.
Too bad we had just eaten but you would think they will have this again.
After lunch it was back for our second ukulele lesson. This time Robin was issued a pink ukulele . We are now up to 5 cords and can (well at least the class can) play two songs, We;re not so sure but hopefully by the end of the cruise we can at least play a G7, we got C, C7 and F down but that G7 is a tough one for us.
The rest of the afternoon was spent napping and reading until 4:00 when we were invited to a Captain function. This wasn’t the normal meet the Captain and have a glass of Champaign type get-together we really aren’t sure what it was suppose to be. Oh, and by the way, the Captain was a no show. So we hung out for a very short period of time, but at least we were rewarded with a free drink ticket. So with that in hand, off we went to the Crooners Bar.
It was the first of three formal nights so we got dressed up for dinner and headed to the dining room. Right after dinner we headed to our cabin changed our clothes and went to a show featuring Mike Wilson who does impressions of famous people and combines with comedy. We then attempted to go up to one of the top decks with the hope of seeing the stars but those darn cloud did not want to cooperate.
Who know what’s in store for us on Day 3. The only plan so far is for our 3rd ukulele lesson and we now keep our ukuleles until the end of the cruise, so there’s a slight chance that we will practice.
One last picture to show the beauty of the sky and ocean, even though it was chilly and rainy most of the day.
Enjoy,
John and Robin
