Day 5–November 17, 2014

The day started out nice and slow.  A little coffee, a little breakfast and a little morning TV.  We decided to head to Lihue and see if we could find a couple of places that we remembered from our last visit here.  First up was to find the two lighthousea located in Nawiliwli Harbor.  We remembered that at least one of them was located right next to the Kauai Lagoons Golf course.  As we slowly drove along the harbor we accidently found a perfect spot to see both of the lighthouse right across the harbor.

Sorry the picture is a little blurry but I really need to zoom in.

You can see in the second picture the little light house that we remember from playing golf on that golf course.  We think that’s either the 7th or 13th hole.

The next place we were determined to find was a restaurant location that used to overlook that same golf course.  Sadly we did find the location but it has long since been boarded up but there is still a wonderful view to be had.

Driving along this jumped out at us.

The car automatically pulled in to the parking lot and stopped.  It’s a tiny little store with mostly hand made items.  The owner also has a long arm quilting machine that she uses to quilt her “for sale” items along with quilting for others.

Right around the corner we found another place we remembered from the past.

It’s Kalapaki Beach Hut and we are planning on having breakfast there tomorrow morning.

After a short afternoon rest back at the condo, we headed over to Joe’s on the Green for pupus and Mai Tai’s.  Once again a beautiful sunset but this time from a different location.

We are now back at the condo having a glass of wine on the Lanai.  This just might be a little slice of heaven.  Until tomorrow………………………….

Hugs,

John and Robin
