Day 1 – Washington D.C.

We made it to D.C. and are checked in to our hotel.  We are staying at a Comfort in that is actually quite nice.  We have a corner room with plenty of space and questionable Wi-Fi.  But so far it’s working.

Here we are right before take off.  It was taken by a young gentlemen that was part of a collect water polo team that had been in Southern California for a tournament.  We asked how they did and the response of “OK”.  Maybe they didn’t do so hot.  There were also 25 8th graders on the plane also headed to D.C. for 5 days.  Needless to say it was a full plane.  But, hey it was Jet Blue, leather seats, leg room and your own personal TV.  You sure can’t beat that.

As you can see it was very overcast and dreary as we pulled away from the terminal.  After all these years I still love the old original terminals.  It’s very nostalgic.

Told you it was dreary.  You can just barely make out Signal Hill as we take off.

We had a nice Italian dinner tonight.  John’s watching poker on TV and then we’re going to hit it.  We have an early morning tour of the Capital in the morning.  The weather should cooperate tomorrow and then we’re in for some rain for a couple of days.  Oh well, we have umbrellas.

I’ll report again tomorrow.

Love you all,

John and Robin

  1. This is gonna be fun following your blog. With the dreary day, it makes the pic of LB airport look old. It must bring back memories. Have fun at the Capitol. Luv you!
