Our day got off to a slow, lazy start. We had all day to drive to Vermont so we took our time leaving Kennebunk. After filling the car with gasoline (BTW $3.89 per gallon) we made our second visit to Dunkin Donuts for a cup of coffee and of course a donut. They have great coffee.
Off we went, deciding to make part of the drive off the main Highway so that we could see some of the country side. We brought our GPS along with us and it did pretty good. Only one false move that had us driving on an unpaved dead end road. The Magellan was quite adamant that the road should go through but I can assure you that road wasn’t going anywhere. We turned around and eventually it recalibrated.
We finally managed to visit a quilt shop, Thread in Hand in Candia, New Hampshire. A cute little shop that has only been open about 2 years. The owner, Sandra is originally from California, it’s a small world. I only bought 1 piece of fabric and a pair of earrings, not bad for me.
Here’s a little of the “color” we saw along the way.
We had clouds the entire way with just a little bit of rain.
We eventually made it to Quechee, Vermont where we found our absolutely lovely Inn. Check out our room.
Tomorrow we’re off to wander some more around Vermont. For now, it’s time to watch the results of Dancing with the Stars (John is reading again).
Hugs,
John and Robin
