Today was our last full day in Vermont. While researching our trip, John found an 89 mile scenic fall foliage drive that began one town over in Woodstock. It was a beautiful drive filled with lovely scenery including a lot of “color” even though the rain caused many of the leaves to drop early. We managed to see three covered bridges and one of them we were even able to drive over. So without further adieu, here are just a few of the pictures from our day.
While taking a picture of the bridge above we looked off to our left and saw this barn and fenced area. Look closely and you’ll see a Zebra. What in the world is a Zebra doing out in the middle of Vermont country side?
This last picture it taken looking out over the Quechee Gorge. As you can see it was a perfectly beautiful day.
Tonight we’re going to a local restaurant for dinner. Then back to the Quechee Inn for a little TV, reading and packing.
The plan for tomorrow is to have breakfast and head south towards Boston. We’re planning on visiting Concord, MA where we hope to see Walden Pond, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and Louisa May Alcott’s home. Then it’s on to Logan Airport in Boston and our flight home.
I’ll have at least one last post tomorrow to wrap up our trip but it has been a great one.
Until then……….
Hugs,
John and Robin
