Day 7–October 9, 2015

As they (whoever they are) say, all good things must come to an end.  Today was our last full day on the ship and tomorrow morning they will be booting us off.  We’ve had a great time, relaxing, eating, wine tasting with a little site seeing thrown in.

Today started early as we arrived in San Diego.

It was a a pretty view until a Disney ship pulled in right next to us.

We never did find out where it had been or where it was going but it looks like a very nice ship.

Today our goal was to take a city tour riding a trolley throughout the city hopping off near the end of the tour to have lunch in Old Town.  Here’s a few of the sites that we saw along the way.

As you can see the tour took as all over the city from the Embarcadero, the Gas Lamp District, Coronado Island, China Town, Balboa Park and our favorite Old Town.  We had lunch at our favorite spot, Old Town Mexican Café and then we headed back to the ship.

It was a very, very hot day particularly for San Diego but I guess it’s even hotter at home.  It’s hard to believe it’s October.

I mentioned that a Disney ship was docked right next to us.  They left right ahead of us.

Our last happy hour in the Crooner’s lounge.

Today’s food review:

Breakfast – 4 – Room service in the cabin.  A breakfast sandwich for John, cereal and fruit for Robin and a pot of coffee.  We have nothing to complain about.

Lunch – 9 – Probably a 10 but it’s hard to give anything a 10.  Lunch was at Old Town Mexican Café.  Enchilada’s with mole sauce, home made corn tortillas, a super fat pork tamale with lots of port stuffed inside and a couple of cold cervezas.  We’ve decided it’s good that we don’t live closer or we’d each weigh 300 lbs.

Dinner – 7.5 – John’s steak was very good and the fettuccine was delish.  Tonight’s dinner was in the Michelangelo anytime dining room.

Time to call it a night and the end of a wonderful vacation.  Back to the real world in the morning.

Hugs,

John and Robin
