This was our first day entirely at sea. There are a ton of things to do on board but we decided today would just be a lazy day. Turns out that was a good thing. As the Captain had warned, the ship rocked and rolled all during the night and continued into the morning. We have prescription motion sickness patches with us. Although I put a patch on last night in preparations for the rough seas it didn’t exactly work this morning. After breakfast we walk all over the ship trying to familiarize ourselves as best we could but at some point I started feeling very queasy so we went back to the cabin.
So we ended up spending a very lazy day, reading our books, napping and watching TV. BTW, they have a small variety of things to watch in the TV but our favorite is the good old Food Channel.
Here’s the inside of our cabin.
This is a picture of the vast ocean taken from our balcony.
After some down time we did venture back out just in time to enjoy a wine tasting with the Delius group.
We tasted five excellent wines while Dave (the owner of Delius) explained them to us.
It other news, Here’s today’s ratings for the food. Remember John is ranking them 1 though 10, 1 being ordinary and 10 is extraordinary.
Breakfast – 7 The food was good and the service was very good.
Lunch – 5 Cheeseburger and fries out by the pool it was OK but not as good as Johnny Rockets on another cruise line.
Dinner Food – 7 The food was quite good although the cream brule was more of a flan than cream brule. It was still good just not served as advertised.
Dinner Seating – 4 We did not like where we were seated. It won’t happen again.
This is a shot taking looking towards the back of the ship and they wake left behind.
Tomorrow is a day we are both really looking forward to. We’re planning on playing tourists all day in San Francisco and then we get to meet my niece Christina and her husband Paolo for dinner. I’m thinking that might just be the best part of the entire trip.
Hope to have more to blog about tomorrow night but in the mean time………
Hugs,
John and Robin
