Today was a fun day. We climbed aboard the Hop On, Hop Off bus that was waiting right outside the cruise terminal. Here is a picture looking at the side of the ship as we left to go ashore.
It was absolutely perfect weather for enjoying the view from the top deck of the bus. Some of you will “get” the next picture but others won’t. Here we go.
Did you get it? I wore pants yesterday. This is the first time since I went on my skirt making binge. Wearing jeans felt funny but practical for climbing up the narrow stairs on the two decker bus.
There were many, many sights to see, this is just a snippet. The picture above is of the San Francisco Civic Center. It’s a gorgeous building.
As we drove through Golden Gate part we came across this little group with they’re bright orange shirts on. Some of the T-shirts look more like dresses on these little kids but they were so cute. We also saw another group dressed in bright turquoise. They must plan on them wearing the same shirt for a very long time so that they can grow into them.
Driving through a tunnel as we approach the Golden Gate bridge.
Approaching the bridge.
A few more views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bus just about flew over the bridge. It was windy but really fun. Almost a “D” ride.
After returning to the ship we then headed back out for the best part of the day. We had dinner with Family. That’s my niece Christina on the left, her son Emilio up front, and of course yours truly, Robin and John. Thank you Paolo for taking the picture.
Here’s just a cute picture of Cristina and me. We had a wonderful time.
And now for John’s daily food review. Once again 1 on the low end and 10 on the high end.
Breakfast – 6 - Not much to say here other than they have a very nice selection but nothing spectacular. Once of these morning we’ll go to the dining room and give that a try.
Lunch – 7 – We hoped off the bus at Union Square to do a little shopping and we found a hotdog food stand. We each got a dog and sat in the park to enjoy our lunch. Did I mention it was 70 degrees outside? Perfect weather.
Dinner – 9 – Not on the ship. We met Christina, Paolo and Emilio at a very unique restaurant. It’s call El Techo de Lolindo and is located on Mission Street in the Mission District area of San Francisco. It’s Argentinean food and everything is served family style. They feature small plates of all sorts of things from empanadas, salad and grilled artichokes to a mixed meat platter. We were all stuffed but couldn’t pass up churros for desert with two dipping sauces.
It was then time to say goodbye and Crisy drove us back to the ship.
Tomorrow is another at-sea day and we haven’t decided what to do. We hope to get some walking in either on deck or on a treadmill. However we are easily distracted so who knows what tomorrow brings.
Until then…………..
Hugs,
Robin and John
